Description:
This photograph presents a unique look at the men who
did the work on Rancho Los Encinos. While they are primarily of
Basque origin, they could as easily be cowboys, sheepherders,
or farm laborers on any other ranch in the west. They wear sturdy,
comfortable and practical shirts, trousers and, in some cases,
vests and coats. Their hats are beat up and non-descript.The fellow
standing is the Chinese cook.
